Great advice. I usually attend about one or two networking events a month — you hit on all the right points. I can’t tell you how many times I meet people at networking events and they don’t have their business card. Regarding business cards — a simple design is better. Stick to the basics, name, phone number, website, company name, e-mail address. If someone is really interested in you, they will take the time to visit your website. Also, keep the back of the card blank (white space) — this makes it easier for people to write down notes of your conversation. Since we meet a lot of people at networking events, sometimes it’s difficult to remember a conversation.
